Pedro Wrede paints interiors constructed with visionary genius. His spaces exhibit a high degree of figure-ground tension.
He accomplishes this by constantly recontextualizing the form as either the positive or negative space. Surfaces are dynamic, planes of color change vexingly; symbols that disappear into abstraction are enchanting.
Wrede draws from history´s catalog of symbols to compile studies in communicative from. He uses this form to reveal mediations of the subconscious.
