Art is arresting motion, capturing beauty, holding it and fixing it so that even if a million years later, when we look at a work of art, it moves again since it is life itself. Elie Makhlouf, the creative artist, born in North Lebanon-Zgharta, speaks with shapes and colors, and manifests an innovative mind to generate splendor in the ultimate expression.

With a Diploma of higher studies in drawing and painting, he stepped into the world of the colors and shapes, restoring icons and paintings as well as drawing his own canvas and showcasing his work at art in Major exhibitions in Lebanon. He is also a teacher with a vision and a mission, to pass on his knowledge and talent to future generations. Whether a Faux-sky or a painting, his spirit is always there.

His sense of magnificence is translated in his masterpiece. Painting gorgeous Murals in castles or in small houses, it is the work of art to be looking for to revamp your living spaces; he pours from his imagination into your walls, and brings the sky to your ceilings and invites birds along. He picks up from where nature ends.

The reverie is what his hands craft, he draws nature to convey it into your homes, with his exquisite drawings, he gives the expression '' starting at the ceiling'' a new meaning, making it hard to take away your sight from his paintings. His Mural and Faux-sky paintings let you escape from the world outside only to link you to it again with all it has of beautiful scenery and nature.

The portrait and figures from his pencil flow; to eflect a glow you see when you gaze into the faces he draws. Oscar Wilde ddescribes it better with his saying: ''Every Portrait that is painting with feelings is a portrait of the Artist not of the sitter'' and who better to make it evident than Elie Makhlouf with his portraits. To paint every wrinkle, every white hair of the old persons you see in his drawings, is his way to present us with the history of that aged person, every wrinkle is a story, a hardship lived and survived through the years. Every painting is a personal dairy of the painter and of the people he met and kept in his memory.

He draws the truth, the person as he is not as he should be, only to remind us that we have a soul, to awaken our dormant minds. Elie Makhlouf the talented artist leaves traces of eternity that is filled with superb magnificience and whoever said that thoughts cannot be seen was wrong, since art is nothing but a conversion of the mind with forms, colors and shapes to let us tast the joy of life in each and every strike of his brush. Time revealed in the eyes and the faces of the people he porrtays, the flaw of time is a witness of their presence and continued existence.
